The Black Diamond Lodge is under new ownership as of last September. The new owners just finished updating many of their lodging amenities including new light fixtures, paint, carpet, mattresses, bedding, and a full lobby overhaul. It's a beautiful, updated venue - the only of its type in the four-corners area.

They sleep 46 people in 12 rooms and include access to a community kitchen, large game room, movie room, breakfast room and spa area with three hot tubs, a sauna and steam room. PLUS! They have a flexible payment structure that allows guests to pay them directly so groups almost always pass all lodging costs directly to their guests. There are also many condos nearby that are able to sleep an additional 100+ guests.

Gosh, Those Dresses…

Katerina over at Katerina’s Darling Bridal kicked off this fun styled shoot day with letting us flip through her 2021 dresses and accessories and man everything was just HEART EYES for days. Our “bride”, Caroline choose two of my favorites and it was so amazing to see those dresses complement the Autumn colors and other design elements so well. I was so impressed with Katerina’s taste, attention to detail, but overall her generosity and thoughtfulness. 10/10 would recommend her shop to any bride looking for THE dress or any other wedding attire needs.

Friends Making Pretty Things

The best part of styled shoots in the mountains is that vendors turned friends come together to make something unique and beautiful. As much fun as it is to work weddings together, there’s just something special about watching your own vision come to life. PLUS it’s fun! I’m very grateful for each one of these vendors that spent the day making pretty things.

The floral arrangements for this shoot were designed and curated by Supperette Studio and Mountain Belle Floral Farm. The locally grown, sustainable beauties show that beauty and creativity come from sourcing local. Good for the earth AND insanely gorgeous!

People often ask me what event style I would curate if I were to get married again. I almost always tell them I would have a day filled with color! Although I didn’t get to pick the color palette for this shoot, I was blown away by how all the elements came together in a beautifully festive and seasonal blend of pinks, purple, orange and yellow.
